A former manufacturing operator and business owner, Burton combines on-the-ground leadership experience with strategy expertise from Oliver Wyman’s PE Operations practice. Earlier, he was an engineer at Boeing and General Dynamics. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, summa cum laude.

Steven is a Managing Director at ECA Partners and a key member of the Private Equity Value Creation Practice. He partners with funds and portfolio companies to place finance leaders – CFOs, VPs of Finance, and Controllers – who drive EBITDA expansion and build best-in-class financial infrastructure. His experience spans manufacturing, industrials, and business services, as well as consumer and technology. Steven’s network centers on U.S.-based finance executives with proven transaction expertise. He earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Curtis is a Senior Director at ECA Partners and leads the firm’s PE Portfolio Operations Practice, partnering with investors and operating teams to drive value creation across their portfolios. He recruits Operating Partners, functional leaders, and commercial operators who accelerate growth, improve efficiency, and strengthen execution. With firsthand operating experience in PE, Wealth Management, and FinTech, Curtis brings a practical understanding of portfolio transformation. His work spans GTM, operations, and finance, helping clients align talent strategy with investor objectives.
