Tony Topoleski, PhD
Senior Director
As Senior Director in ECA Partners’ Finance Practice, Tony focuses on FP&A and Finance leadership talent for private equity–backed companies. He partners with CFOs and portfolio executives to build data-driven finance teams that enable forecasting, planning, and strategic decision-making. His experience extends to transformation, analytics, and operational finance roles across manufacturing, services, and consumer sectors. Tony earned a PhD from Northwestern University and was a Fulbright Scholar to Russia, where his research explored motivation and belonging during periods of economic transition.
Ethan Friederich, PhD
Project Manager
Ethan is a Project Manager at ECA Partners supporting the firm’s Finance Practice with a focus on FP&A and strategic finance leadership. He partners with private-equity investors and portfolio companies to place finance executives who build scalable forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making. Before ECA, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Bioethics and Global History at the University of Oxford. Ethan earned a PhD (DPhil) in the History of Science and Medicine and an MSc from Oxford, and a BA from Chapman University.
