Senior Director of Strategy

Company Background


Our client is a Private Equity-backed technology platform in the broader health and wellness space. Our client is led by a highly seasoned CEO who was brought on to accelerate the company’s growth. He is looking for a high-performing new team member to partner with him directly and achieve the organization’s growth goals. This role is envisioned as a stepping stone to larger opportunities within the company.  


The Position


The Director of Strategy & Corporate Development will drive strategic initiatives, oversee the M&A process, and tackle special projects across business units and functions while acting as Chief of Staff and right hand to the new CEO. Their ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter from a top strategy firm with great relationship-building skills - someone who is ready to help the company grow revenues, improve efficiencies, and increase profitability across the business. 

 

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Identify and own strategic initiatives related to growth and operational process improvement
  • Leverage data-driven strategic insights to create roadmaps for top-line growth
  • Identify and perform due diligence to assess the valuation and fitness of acquisition targets
  • Work with PE partners on FP&A to ensure the appropriate amount of debt and equity
  • Drive the post-merger integration process – identifying and accelerating synergies and eliminating redundancies to extract maximum value from the acquisition
  • Act as “right hand” to the CEO on high-level strategic planning and implementation
  • “Communicate for change” – distill complex data analyses to gain executive buy-in and quickly roll out significant transformational initiatives
  • Develop ground-up reporting and analysis to facilitate evidence-based decision-making



Qualifications and Candidate Background


The ideal candidate will have:


  • 5+ years of top-tier management consulting experience
  • Experience leading growth strategy and organizational transformation initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, able to quickly build relationships and work with all levels
  • Ability to partner with and serve the needs of core stakeholders both externally and internally
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, effective communications and presentations, both oral and written
  • Strong emphasis on metrics and quantitative analysis
  • Ability to define, review, and communicate business cases to guide decision-making and gain alignment on key steps
  • Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to prioritize among multiple "balls in the air" and drive key projects forward
  • Top-tier MBA preferred



Location

This role will be based in New York, NY with 20-30% travel.
