Director of Strategy

Our client is a global, commercial-stage biotech company focused on discovering, developing, manufacturing, and commercializing innovative medicines for various forms of cancer.

With a market cap of over $22Bn, the team has strong goals for growth as they look to expand their portfolio of medicines.   

The Position

Our client is looking for a new Director of Strategy, who will drive growth by assessing, identifying, and developing new partnership deals and opportunities.

The ideal candidate is an experienced dealmaker with experience at a top strategy consulting, healthcare investment banking firm, or biopharma company. 

Primary responsibilities include:

• Partnering with senior leadership and business development leaders to evaluate and identify new partnership and M&A opportunities
• Analyzing market conditions and providing synergy analyses of new business ventures
• Performing due diligence and working cross-functionally across the organization to facilitate deals and partnerships
• Developing business cases and pitches for both internal and external stakeholders 

Qualifications and Candidate Background

The ideal candidate will have a/an:

• Excellent track record driving projects in commercial due diligence and M&A
• Demonstrated ability in value creation and can drive value creation from problem-identification to solution design to implementation
• Ability to bring structure to complex questions with limited guidance and collaborate cross-functionally across the organization 
• Ability to design strategic solutions with a results-oriented mentality
• Proven command of technical skills and the ability to analyze and present data to C-Suite, as well as build relationships with senior executives
• Academic background in biosciences required; MBA preferred but not required
• Experience working in an international environment, especially with China, is a plus
• 2+ years’ strategy and operations experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or equivalent experience in investment banking or at a biopharma company 



Location

The position is located in Boston, San Francisco, or New York, with 10% travel. Our client is open to a remote setup for the right candidate.
