Our client is a high-growth PE-backed medical group based in Southern California. Operating clinics across San Diego, Riverside and Ventura counties, the group is seeking to transform primary care through population health management. By advancing a holistic view of patient health that incorporates both medical and lifestyle improvements at a community level, they pride themselves on providing the highest caliber of patient experience.

The Position

The medical group is looking for a Director of Operations to head up the day-to-day operations of primary care clinics across Southern California. Working within the principles of risk-sharing accountable care, the Director of Ops will help ensure that patients receive smooth, integrated, and cost-effective treatment across all facilities.   

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment with a comprehensive understanding of healthcare operations. The candidate will be eager and ready to drive results for an innovative provider whose methods and values are at the cutting edge of primary care.

 
Primary responsibilities include: 
  • Reviewing and evaluating current workflows to identify new opportunities and implement solutions  
  • Reporting to the leadership team on a regular and ad hoc basis with recommendations for improvement  
  • Overseeing a team of managers with regular interaction, assessment of skills, and provision of clear development pathways  
  • Improving patient satisfaction across all groups and facilities
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives  
  • Partnering with Financial Planning & Analysis teams to determine areas to increase revenues and decrease expenses  
  • Partnering with HR to forecast staffing needs and propose improvements to training 
 
Qualifications and Candidate Background 

The ideal candidate will have:   
  • 6-10+ years of experience, including 2+ in healthcare  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally  
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written  
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to act as a thought partner to leaders across the organization  
  • An ego-less style of leadership and the ability to work well within a mission-driven organization  
  • The ability to juggle multiple balls in the air while driving successful outcomes  
  • Experience with data analytics 
 
Location 

The position will be based in Riverside County or nearby Southern California locations with 20-30% regional travel.
