Vice President of Manufacturing

Company Background 

Our client is a fast-growing company that is shipping the world’s highest energy density silicon anode lithium-ion batteries with patented zero-volt stability, fast charging, extreme low temperature performance, and industry best safety. They have sold over 100,000 units to date and have established their patented li-ion technology across multiple industries, including Defense, Aerospace, Medtech, and EV.  

The Position 

The VP of Manufacturing will spearhead manufacturing of our client’s cutting-edge li-ion batteries from its existing pilot line and building of the new megawatt-hour cell manufacturing facility, taking a leading role in helping the company scale from R&D to high-volume manufacturing to meet the rapidly growing global consumer demand for its products.  

The ideal candidate is a seasoned manufacturing professional with a background in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, and has a strong business acumen with a bias toward process improvement.  

Primary responsibilities include: 
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing and quality for the company’s existing pilot line and lead the establishment of a new megawatt-hour Li-ion battery cell manufacturing site  

  • Drive process improvements to help the company move from R&D and pilot production to high-volume manufacturing 

  • Direct manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to drive best-in-class performance results 

  • Maintain KPIs for quality and manufacturing process to ensure consistent high quality and yields. Ensure compliance to the quality control system required for various markets. 

  • Support the company’s culture and productivity goals with excellent prioritization and team-building skills 

Qualifications and Candidate Background 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • 8+ years total experience in manufacturing, including extensive experience in the Li-ion space 

  • Must have experience setting up a greenfield operation from end to end 

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering required;  

  • Strong technical skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity  

  • Ability to achieve strategic goals through tactical wins 

  • Energetic, open-minded people leader, with demonstrated ability to drive results under pressure and time constraints while fostering a positive work environment
