Due Diligence Strategy Lead

The Position 

Our client seeks an Operations Leader to interface with the deal team and manage the research and sourcing operations teams, taking ownership of all data, content, third-party partnerships, and tools. The primary goal will be automating sourcing workstreams, maintaining scalable data infrastructure, and delivering key insights during target company evaluation, and post-investment value creation.

The ideal candidate will be able to interface with the deal team as an experienced people and process leader, who is excited to evolve their operations, reporting methodologies, and knowledge-sharing systems to improve sourcing efficiency and drive unique insights.

Key responsibilities include:
1.    Market Research and Strategic Due Diligence
a.    Manage external research providers and the Head of Research
b.    Evolve firm data management
c.    Evaluate diligence around market landscape (e.g., TAM), target positioning, and customer behavior (e.g., surveys)
d.    Lead discussion on strategic due diligence internally and externally
2.    Investment and Sourcing Operations
a.    Partner with investment team to enable data-driven sourcing decisions
b.    Enhance collaboration across sourcing teams
c.    Develop expertise to mentor associates in sourcing
d.    Collaborate with the Head of Business Ops to maintain optimal sourcing and data stack software

Qualifications and Candidate Background

The ideal candidate will have:
•    8 – 10+ years total experience with 4+ years in a top-tier consulting firm
•    Detail-oriented approach with exceptional “consultant toolkit
•    Results-oriented mindset with ability to thrive under ambiguity and time constraints to develop thoughtful, executive-level content
•    Personal integrity, initiative, exceptional judgment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence
•    Willingness to travel between Boston and San Francisco offices
•    Prior exposure to SaaS, Information & Data Services, & Internet-enabled businesses (preferred)
