Client / Situation
- Our client is a large retailer who needed analysts to drive operational and transformational initiatives aimed at improving gross margins – this includes strategic cost assessment, inventory optimization, supply chain optimization, expansion plans, and investment allocation analyses
Objectives / Results Achieved
- Constructed an integrated series of tracking sheets to catalog and review ~15,000 issues and communicate downstream activities with 6 teams across the organization
- Synthesized activity into a status report shared organization-wise on a weekly basis
- Conducted market research within a competitive landscape to analyze direct import and direct sourcing (DI/DS) infrastructure
- Developed a 360 process map of the DI/ DS supply chain process identifying timelines, key stakeholders, SMEs, and operational pain points
- Identified merchandise categories for competitive line reviews using financial and non-financial attributes to create a competitive roadmap
- Mapped manufacturing processes for merchandize categories to outline competitive market intelligence and future product roadmap
